Good afternoon WEA Members,
Wanted to give a quick update about future WEA events related to the virus. We are reviewing directions from the Washoe County Health Dept around the April and May Building Rep meetings, Retirement-Awards Banquet, Senior Recognition, etc. NSEA for DA and NEA for RA are discussing whether to cancel the events as well. We have to keep the health and safety of people in mind when making these decisions.
As you already know, WCSD will be discussing today what to do around school events/activities for intersession as well after spring break. WEA has been in contact with WCSD officials about the situation, particularly around the continuation of pay and benefits as they relate to our contract. Many of the items being discussed are related to decisions made at the Washoe County Health Dept level.
