Counselor's Connection -
End of the Year Odds and Ends

If you have not signed your letter of intent and returned it to your administrator, you have until the 10th to do so. If you do not return it, the district assumes you will be resigning.
By the end of the school year, you should have your assignments for next year. If you are still interested in transferring the needs list is on the district website. If jobs become available at your site through the summer, the administrator is not obligated to inform the staff, so checking the needs list is important.
District policy allows administrators to begin the evaluation process for 2008-09 after April 1st. The procedure is exactly the same even though it is not the beginning of a new school year. Be sure that a goal setting meeting is held before you start the process. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us.

NEW PAYROLL SYSTEM ROLL-OUT
IN MAY

The new bi-tech system will be rolling out with the May certified payroll. This is the first phase that has been in the making for over 2 years. Eventually, employees will be able to access their records right online.
Everyone is urged to review their May payroll for any errors that may have occurred. The process that has been used prior to actually producing payroll has been extensive and should reduce any problems.
However, if there are any errors, employees are asked to call the hotline at: 325-2055. A support team member will be standing by this number to help from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

NEA Begins Cell Phone Recycling Program

NEA has joined with forces Sprint and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to produce tools for adults to help kids connect safely. You may access this tool system by logging onto www.bnetsavvy.org.
This tool has received rave reviews in keeping children safe. There are great articles being produced every two months. In order to keep this network up and running the companies participating are recycling cell phones.
Ken Buhrmann will be collecting your old cell phone throughout the year and shipping them to NEA. The proceeds from the recycled phones will assist in providing this great project.
Just send your phone to the WEA office through inter-school mail.
